Lockdown Lift-Off: what we’ll be wearing

It’s no secret that we’re counting down the days and weeks as lock-down restrictions are lifted and life can resume to some kind of normal.

At Black White Denim, we’ve earmarked all the key dates and are working towards each of them in our own stylish but effortless way.

From March 29^th we can meet up to 6 people from other households outside which has got us dreaming of cocktails around the firepit with piles of tortillas and dips! Les Girls Les Boys is a brand that was originally developed for lounging at home (its tag line is “from bed to street”) and our latest drop is perfect for your first “firepit festival” of the year. Layering the oversized hoodie in cashmere blue over their logoed long-sleeve tee and adding the super-cosy matching pants will give the illusion that you’ve simply thrown the look together with barely a moment’s thought. Pull a Le Bonnet Grand Beanie down over your ears (it is still March after all) and keep your tootsies toasty warm with some woolly socks and our UMA boot from Shoebiz CPH for max attitude! If you’re still cold, finish with a padded goose-down puffa jacket from our Italian favourites, Duvetica.

April 12^th is the BIG DAY for us! Our Wilmslow boutique will be flinging open its doors and welcoming lots of happy shoppers who, if you’re anything like us, are ready to let rip and treat themselves to some fresh spring/summer looks that will work as well this year as they will next year and beyond. Our go-to outfit for our first shopping trip will be some Commando faux-leather leggings or joggers, a tee from Anine Bing, Bow & Bo or Set Fashion, a leather jacket or blazer and a pair of super cool sneakers from GGDB or Veja. Despite feeling the need to hit the heels again soon, we are going to be saving that for a later date when we don’t need to be flight-of-foot dancing around the rails or kicking off our shoes excitedly in the fitting rooms. If the sun’s shining, we’ll be sporting our For Arts Sake ‘General’ aviators and accessorising with a stack of colourful Coco & Jane Loves bracelets.

From May 17^th we’re told that we may be able to meet up indoors under the rule of six. For us, that suggests a gathering of giddy girls gripped by each other’s tales of home-schooling and zoom calls while quaffing a decent Provencale Rose and eating a bottomless sushi platter (with chips on the side!). It’s essential to dress up for this one so we’d make our style choice really simple and pick a dress from Set Fashion, Samsoe Samsoe or Faithfull The Brand and pair with a kitten heeled sandal. There’s no need for a bag or heavy make-up. We’re among our besties at home after all, so a quick brush of bronzer, lash-lengthening mascara and a nude lip will do just fine!

On June 21st, all being well we will be OUT OUT OUT! This momentous occasion requires a blog post all of its own so we’ll get back to you with that one nearer the time.
