The Essentiel Antwerp Kendra Oversized Blazer in Steel Pulse Grey is a women’s grey checked double-breasted blazer with an intentionally oversized, straight silhouette, padded shoulders and concealed zips running beneath the arms. Unzip them and the sides open up, changing the shape and giving you a brilliant cape-like effect. Very clever. Very Essentiel.

How to wear the Kendra Blazer

For everyday, we’d put it over the Klaim Tee Shirt with Chain in Off White, add blue denim and loafers. The oversized blazer provides the drama; everything else can behave itself.

Keep what’s underneath simple—a white tee, fine knit or shirt—and trainers or loafers stop the whole thing becoming too corporate. How do you wear an oversized grey blazer without looking too formal? Jeans. Always a good answer. Add a simple tee, trainers or loafers and push or unzip those sleeves to break up the tailoring.

The Kendra is intentionally oversized and straight-cut, with structured padded shoulders.

The model is 5’10” and wears size 36.

With this one, the generous proportions are very much the point. Stay with your usual size for the full Essentiel oversized effect, or consider sizing down if you want to reduce some of the volume.

A BWD note on Essentiel sizing: Essentiel Antwerp is known for relaxed, oversized and exaggerated silhouettes. In some deliberately oversized styles, a nominal UK 4 can work beautifully on someone who would usually wear a UK 8. The Kendra is one of those intentionally oversized pieces, so don’t be frightened of playing with the sizing depending on how much volume you want.

Care

Hand wash according to the garment care instructions. We’d store it on a good structured hanger and steam rather than repeatedly washing to help preserve those strong shoulders and the shape of the tailoring.
