The Essentiel Antwerp Kitten Round Sleeve Jacket in Green is a women’s green, black and cream checked wool-blend jacket with a relaxed, boxy silhouette and softly rounded sleeves. Cut from a substantial midweight fabric, it combines dropped shoulders, a classic shirt collar and oversized patch pockets with polished gold-tone buttons.

This is the sort of jacket we love at BWD because it does something useful: it makes very ordinary clothes look considerably less ordinary. Jeans, white tee, Kitten. Outfit sorted.

Why it made the cut

How to wear the Kitten Jacket

Our first choice would be the Essentiel Antwerp Kort Tee in White, relaxed blue denim and loafers. The green check does all the work.

It would also look brilliant over the Kort Tee in Charcoal Grey with black trousers, or with the Kudzu ¾ Length Leggings and ballet flats for a more directional silhouette.

What colours go with a green checked jacket? Black and cream are already running through the Kitten, so they’re the obvious starting point. Blue denim makes it feel casual, charcoal grey gives it a cooler edge and chocolate brown works beautifully with the earthy green.

And yes, you can wear gold jewellery with gold buttons.

The Kitten is designed for a relaxed fit, with softly dropped shoulders and volume through the rounded sleeves.

That 47¼-inch chest on a nominal UK 8 tells you far more than the label does. There’s plenty of room built into the shape, so don’t be afraid to play with sizing depending on how oversized you want it.

A BWD note on Essentiel sizing: Essentiel Antwerp is known for its relaxed and oversized silhouettes, so don’t get too hung up on the number on the label. In some of its deliberately oversized pieces, a nominal UK 4 can comfortably work on someone who would usually wear a UK 8. The Kitten is intentionally relaxed and generous, so we’d consider sizing down if you prefer a neater fit.

Care

The Kitten should not be washed, bleached or tumble dried. Iron on a low temperature and dry clean according to the care label to protect the wool-blend fabric and structured shape.
