The Essentiel Antwerp Kreative Oversized Shirt in White is a women’s oversized white cotton shirt cut from crisp, lightweight poplin with a loose silhouette, classic collar and a clever draped detail at the waist. An asymmetric chest pocket and detachable silver-tone brooch give the wardrobe classic a distinctly Essentiel twist. It’s 100% cotton, so despite all the drama, this is still an exceptionally useful white shirt.

How to wear the Kreative Oversized Shirt

First outing: relaxed blue jeans, sleeves pushed up, black belt and loafers. Very little effort required.

With wide-leg black trousers, we’d leave the shirt loose and let its shape become the focus. Or wear it with leggings and a great jacket—the generous proportions on top work brilliantly against a slimmer bottom half.

How do you style an oversized white shirt without looking swamped? It’s all about proportion. Keep your bottom half cleaner, show a little wrist, or use a partial tuck to create shape. Alternatively, fully embrace the volume with wide-leg trousers and make it look deliberate.

The important bit is not to spend the day apologising for the size of your shirt.

A BWD note on Essentiel sizing: Essentiel Antwerp is known for its oversized silhouettes, so don’t get too hung up on the number on the label. In some of its deliberately oversized styles, a nominal UK 4 can comfortably work on someone who would usually wear a UK 8. The Kreative is intentionally oversized, so we’d absolutely consider sizing down if you want less volume.

Care

Wash cool according to the garment care label and avoid tumble drying. We’d reshape while damp and air dry, then steam or iron as appropriate to bring back that lovely crisp cotton finish.
