The Samsøe Samsøe Alexo Tank Vest in Dark Grey Melange is a women’s slim-fitting ribbed tank top made from soft organic cotton jersey with added stretch. With its higher round neckline, wide shoulder straps and close-fitting silhouette, it’s a brilliantly useful alternative to black or white — and one of those pieces that makes getting dressed considerably easier.

How to wear the Alexo Tank

Blue barrel-leg jeans, the Alexo, a brown belt and loafers. Add an oversized shirt or jacket and you’re done.

For something smarter, tuck it into wide-leg black or grey trousers and add a blazer. We also love Dark Grey Melange with chocolate brown — add gold jewellery and it suddenly feels considerably more styled than vest and trousers has any right to.

Or use it as the layer underneath an open white shirt. That flash of charcoal breaks up the white and denim beautifully.

What colours go with a dark grey vest? Almost everything. White and cream give you contrast, blue denim keeps it casual, black creates an easy tonal look and brown warms everything up.

Basically, if you’re standing in front of your wardrobe wondering what goes underneath it, this probably does.

Fit & measurement

The Alexo is designed for a slim, body-skimming fit with plenty of stretch. Stay close to your usual size for the intended fitted silhouette, or size up if you’d like a little more room.

Care

Machine wash at 30°C with similar dark colours. Avoid tumble drying where possible and reshape before air drying to help maintain that neat fitted shape.

The sort of thing you buy because you “need a grey vest” and then become mildly irritated whenever it’s in the wash. A very good sign.
