Essentiel Antwerp Kokos Barrel Leg Jean in Dusty Green

Jeans. Just not blue ones. Sometimes that’s enough to make your whole wardrobe feel new again.

The Essentiel Antwerp Kokos Barrel Leg Jean in Dusty Green is a women’s high-rise, cropped barrel-leg jean cut from 100% organic cotton denim. The relaxed curved leg and twisted outer seam give them that slightly sculptural Essentiel shape, while the muted Dusty Green works almost like a neutral.

This was an easy yes for BWD. We love denim, but we also love finding something that does the same job without simply buying another pair of blue jeans.

Why they made the cut

• The barrel leg gives you a modern shape without becoming ridiculously wide.
• Dusty Green is surprisingly easy to wear — particularly good with white, cream, charcoal, navy, black and brown.
• The twisted outer seam exaggerates the curved silhouette in a very subtle Essentiel way.
• They’re high waisted and cropped, so they work brilliantly with loafers, ballet flats and trainers.
• 100% organic cotton gives them that proper structured-denim feel.
• They’re different enough to change an outfit, but not so different that you’ll wonder what on earth to put with them.

How to wear the Kokos Jeans

We’d start with the Karacas Cashmere Pullover in Grey and loafers. Grey and dusty green together is understated, expensive-looking and extremely easy.

The Klaim Tee with Chain in Off White would be another obvious partner. Add a brown belt and you’re done.

Or put them with the Kourse Studded Tee in Charcoal Grey and a black jacket for something with a little more attitude.

What colours go with dusty green jeans? Treat them almost as you would blue denim. White and cream keep things fresh, charcoal and black give them an edge, while chocolate brown and camel bring out the earthy side of the green.

In other words, you probably already own everything you need to wear with them. Always a good sign.

The Kokos is designed for a relaxed fit, sitting high on the waist before curving through the barrel leg and finishing cropped. The model is 5’10” and wears size 27.

These are generously cut through the hip and leg, and one UK retailer specifically recommends sizing down if you’re between sizes.

Care

Machine wash according to the care label. We’d turn them inside out, wash at a cool temperature with similar colours and air dry rather than tumble drying. And, as with all good denim, they really don’t need washing every time you wear them.
